Cell Phone Pouch Policy

July 31, 2026
Dear Tuba City High School Families,
In accordance with Arizona House Bill 2484 (HB 2484) and Governing Board policy, Tuba City High School will be a bell-to-bell, cell phone-free campus beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. This initiative is designed to promote a safe, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment where students can fully engage in their education.
To support this expectation, every student will be issued a secure Cell Phone Pouch System. Students are required to place their cell phone, smartwatch, and earbuds in the district-issued pouch upon arrival at school and keep them securely stored throughout the school day. Students are responsible for bringing their assigned pouch to school each day and maintaining it in good condition. Students will keep possession of their pouch throughout the day and may use their device ONLY DURING LUNCH PERIOD! They must place their phone back in their pouch and close it before entering back in the building.
At Tuba City High School, our mission is to provide every student with the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. While technology has many benefits, personal devices can also create distractions that interfere with learning and meaningful interactions. Our goal is not to take phones away from students, but to create an environment where they can be fully present, actively engaged, and focused on their education.
In the event parents have an emergency, simply call the school main office at: (928) 283-1050 and we will contact your child to come to the office.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to an outstanding school year!
Yours for Education,
Principal A. Bishop
